The
Friday, December 4th
installment of the
ITLA Fall Forum
will focus on the where, how, and possible when of the return of jury trials in Ada County and throughout Idaho. The presentation will be led by Trial Court Administrator Sandra Barrios, Fourth District Administrative Judge Steven Hippler, and Ada County Clerk Phil McGrane.
Sandra Barrios
, The Trial Court Administrator, oversees all administrative responsibilities of the Fourth Judicial District. This includes responsibility for facilities management; serving as a liaison between agencies, the media, and the public; and developing and carrying out policies that enhance court system performance.
Judge Steven Hippler
graduated Order of the Coif from the University Of Utah College Of Law in 1991. Prior to joining the bench, Judge Hippler was a litigation partner at Givens Pursley, LLP. In 2013, Judge Hippler was appointed to the district bench by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter. In addition to his civil and felony criminal calendar, Judge Hippler is the Administrative District Judge for the Fourth Judicial District. Judge Hippler is a member of the Idaho Supreme Court’s Rules of Civil Procedure Committee and the Supreme Court’s Jury Committee.
Phil McGrane
currently serves as the Ada County Clerk of the District Court. Phil was born in Pocatello but grew up in Boise. After graduating from high school, he spent a year with AmeriCorps working to support programs that bring low-income individuals and communities out of poverty. Phil has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Washington, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Boise State, and a law degree from the University of Denver. Phil is also an active member of both the Idaho and Colorado State Bar Associations.
